Baseball Recap: West Caldwell Drops Season-High Score on North Wilkes

West Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-11 to the North Wilkes Vikings. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Dawson Barrett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Joseph Webb also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, West Caldwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for North Wilkes, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will welcome West Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Caldwell has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for North Wilkes, they will be playing at home against West Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Wilkes has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.29 runs per game on average), something North Wilkes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
