Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Rochester Rockets

MacArthur is 0-10 against Rochester since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Generals will venture away from home to take on the Rockets at 4:30 p.m. MacArthur has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

MacArthur is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Monday. They lost 11-0 to Clinton.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Rochester brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Olympia get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Sean Plessa, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Olympia off the board.

On the hitting side, Rochester got a massive performance out of Jorey Myren, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Reece Gade was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two doubles.

Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Rochester, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-7.

MacArthur suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Rochester in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
