Recap: Robertson Cardinals vs. Bosque Bobcats

The Robertson Cardinals entered their tilt with the Bosque Bobcats with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Robertson walked away with a 73-62 victory over Bosque on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Robertson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathaniel Gonzales out in front who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonzales has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Contreras, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Bosque's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Hautau, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Hautau hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Kyle Morris was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists.

Even though they lost, Bosque were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robertson only racked up ten assists.

Robertson pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bosque, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Robertson will head out on the road to challenge Sandia Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bosque, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Menaul at 1:00 p.m.
