Softball Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. American Eagles
Kennedy came out on top against American on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Titans walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Eagles. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Madelyn Montague made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Violet Jaramillo tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

Back at the plate, Lucienne Sotelo and Savannah De La Mater did most of the damage at the plate: Sotelo went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while De La Mater went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave De La Mater a new career-high. Paisley Kahler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Kennedy's record now sits at 8-11. As for American, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
