Volleyball Recap: BASIS Flagstaff Starts Season with Victory on the Road

BASIS Flagstaff had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a set and slipped past the Madison Highland Prep Heat 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Yetis as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-104) BASIS Flagstaff actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. BASIS Flagstaff will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Phoenix Christian at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will challenge San Tan Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Highland Prep is coming into the match on an 18-game losing streak dating back to last season.
