The Doral Academy Firebirds will challenge the Miami Beach Hi-Tides at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Doral Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Doral Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Immaculata-La Salle a 9-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Royal Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Marcelo Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Ruvalcaba, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Leandro Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Doral Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Immaculata-La Salle only posted a batting average of .042.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Miami Beach walked away with it. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 5-2 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hi-Tides as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Doral Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Miami Beach, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

Everything went Doral Academy's way against Miami Beach in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as Doral Academy made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Hi-Tides have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
