Softball Game Preview: Rockledge Raiders vs. Eau Gallie Commodores

For the second straight game, Rockledge will face off against Eau Gallie. The Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Commodores at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rockledge has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Eau Gallie will arrive with three straight victories.

On Wednesday, Rockledge came up short against Eau Gallie and fell 8-5.

For Eau Gallie's part, Gabriella Barrera was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mary Winans, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Barrera wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eau Gallie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Eau Gallie's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Rockledge, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
