Recap: Wharton Tigers vs. Bellville Brahmas

The Wharton Tigers won the last time they faced the Bellville Brahmas, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Wharton enjoyed a cozy 67-49 win over Bellville. Wharton pushed the score to 57-34 by the end of the third, a deficit Bellville cut but never quite recovered from.

Angell Gaona, Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Korian Baldridge, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Wharton used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Bellville. Jameir Hearne-Robinson made the most of the opportunity, scoring five points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

The victory made it two in a row for Wharton and bumps their season record up to 13-18. As for Bellville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
