Basketball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Liberty Creek Wolves, falling 73-42. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Shemauria Pope and Taleah Patterson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Pope shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points, while Patterson posted 13 points. The game was Pope's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavionna Farmer, who put up ten points.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Liberty Creek, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-54 win against White House on the 10th. Liberty Creek has also already played their next contest (against Greenbrier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
