The McCurdy Bobcats will square off against the East Mountain Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McCurdy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
McCurdy will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Saturday, then bounced right back against Pecos on Tuesday. McCurdy came out on top against Pecos by a score of 10-6. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Cruz Martinez and Carlos Garcia made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Martinez struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Garcia tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs Martinez has allowed since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Martinez went 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double, while Garcia scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those four hits gave Martinez a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jeremaya Roybal was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Celestino Salazar-Archuleta was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
McCurdy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pecos only posted a batting average of .139.
Meanwhile, East Mountain entered their tilt with Albuquerque on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Bulldogs.
The team relied heavily on Charles Birdwell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He has become a key player for East Mountain: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylen Radosevich, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
East Mountain's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for McCurdy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McCurdy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
