Volleyball Recap: Springer Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Springer had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Mosquero Pirates on Thursday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Springer got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 16-25, 15-4.

Brenna Duran paced Springer's offense, picking up 18 kills. Duran got some help from Abigail Eppler and her 33 assists. Eppler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Springer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Elida on the 23rd. Mosquero has also already played their next contest (against Floyd), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
