Cuthbertson is 2-8 against Weddington since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Cuthbertson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Cuthbertson needed a bit of extra time to put away Porter Ridge. They had just enough and edged out the Pirates 12-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cavaliers, who until this contest were averaging 3.42 runs allowed.

Georgia McConnell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexis Juhl, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabby Martens, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and three runs.

Juhl wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Cuthbertson lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Weddington waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Weddington's record is now 15-1. As for Cuthbertson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Cuthbertson couldn't quite get it done against Weddington when the teams last played back in March as they fell 5-1. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
