Basketball Game Preview: Minarets Mustangs vs. Chowchilla Tribe

Minarets is 0-5 against Chowchilla since December of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Minarets Mustangs will welcome the Chowchilla Tribe at 6:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Minarets came up short against Liberty and fell 51-41. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Chowchilla's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 70-51 fall against Fresno Christian. While losing is never fun, the Tribe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 957th, while the Eagles are ranked 199th).

Minarets' loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Chowchilla, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-12.

Minarets was taken down by Chowchilla 64-36 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Minarets was down 33-10.
