Baseball Recap: Houston Christian Wins Going Away Against East Union

Houston Christian's hitters rose to the challenge against an Urchins pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.71 runs allowed on Wednesday. Everything went the Houston Christian Mustangs' way against the East Union Urchins as the Houston Christian Mustangs made off with an 11-5 victory.

Thomas Frank made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Houston Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise. Frank was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kirby Orth, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Barrett Faterkowski, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Houston Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.
