Baseball Recap: Jeannette Takes a Loss

Jeannette was the 6-5 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jayhawks fell just short of the Prexies by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Jayhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jeannette saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amari Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Ryan Shotts was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Jeannette's record is now 2-5. As for Washington, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Jeannette will venture away from home to square off against Carmichaels at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will welcome Monessen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.44 runs per game on average), something the Prexies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
