Recap: Pelham Panthers vs. Calera Eagles
The Pelham Panthers won the last time they faced the Calera Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Pelham claimed a resounding 65-33 win over the Eagles on the road. Given Pelham's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Eagles are ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tee King, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pelham's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karma Wynn, who scored 17 points.
Pelham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Calera, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.
Pelham will take on the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Helena is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Calera, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
