Basketball Recap: Mingo Central Triumphs

If Mount View wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mingo Central, they should've done a better job of containing Addie Smith. The Mingo Central Miners blew past the Mount View Golden Knights, posting a 73-29 win thanks in part to Smith, who went 11 of 23 on her way to 34 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mingo Central's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of DaLaney Grimmett, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Mount View, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mingo Central has already played their next matchup (against James Monroe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mount View and River View will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
