Two weeks ago, East Wake was able to grind out a solid win over Smithfield-Selma, taking the game 35-28. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly seven points.

East Wake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khalee Batts, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Batts a new career-high in rushing yards. Jamal Taybron also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Meanwhile, Williams blew past Person, posting a 54-16 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Williams can attribute much of their success to Mahan, who threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and Amarion Richmond, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Mahan has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Andrews Cruz was Mahan's top target, picking up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
