Baseball Recap: Vista Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vista can now relate to. They lost 12-2 to the Calexico Bulldogs on Wednesday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this matchup were averaging 4.04 runs allowed.

Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandyn Ketcher, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Vista dropped their record down to 18-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Calexico, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4-1 record this season.

Vista will face off against Escondido at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Calexico does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
