Basketball Recap: Terrell County's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Terrell County waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They had just enough and edged the Early County Bobcats out 40-38. This was a revenge game for the Greenwave: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in December of 2024, they had to take a 36-28 loss.

Terrell County can attribute much of their success to Jentaiya Rushing, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ceailaja Samuel, who had ten points.

Despite the loss, Early County still got an impressive performance from Nakevia Brown, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Bernycia Haynes was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Terrell County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Early County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Terrell County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mitchell County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Early County, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Early County Bobcats face off against the Bainbridge Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
