Soccer Game Preview: Oak Grove vs. Brandon + Official Tickets

The Oak Grove Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Brandon Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Things were looking good for Oak Grove after they put the first goal on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Petal who was credited with the win. The Panthers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Oak Grove's three. That makes it the first time this season Oak Grove have let down their home crowd.

Their goal came courtesy of Grace Hightower, who's now up to two this season.

Brandon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Northwest Rankin, who was ranked second at the time (Brandon was ranked fifth). The Bulldogs fell 2-0 to the Cougars on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 13 goals in the game before, Brandon's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Brandon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1-1.

Oak Grove suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Brandon in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
