Basketball Game Preview: Washington Montessori Eagles vs. Jones Trojans

The Washington Montessori Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Jones Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington Montessori is looking for their season's first win.

Last Monday, Washington Montessori had to suffer through a 71-18 loss at the hands of Ocracoke.

Meanwhile, Jones played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by East Columbus 63-13. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Gators are ranked 166th).

Jones' loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Washington Montessori, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Washington Montessori was dealt a bruising 43-3 loss at the hands of Jones when the teams last played back in November of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Washington Montessori was down 28-3.
