Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Lions vs. Joshua Christian Knights
The Heritage Christian Academy Lions were the 37-33 winner over the Joshua Christian Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Heritage Christian Academy suffered a tough 40-19 loss at the hands of the Knights on Friday. Heritage Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Addelynn Reid and Sara Spangler certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Reid scored ten points, while Spangler scored seven points. That was a full 52.6% of Heritage Christian Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Joshua Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addyson Archer out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Archer posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Riley Hanks, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Heritage Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Joshua Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Heritage Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. Joshua Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 10:30 a.m. on January 20th. Providence Academy's defense has only allowed 23.1 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
