Basketball Recap: Griffin Academy Piles Up the Points Against Invictus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Griffin Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Invictus 89-25. The win was some much needed relief for the Griffins as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Griffin Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashton Bonifaco, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Bonifaco is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Jonathan Turner II was another key player, as he made all 8 shots he took for 20 points and six rebounds.

Griffin Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Griffin Academy and Invictus will both be playing Envision Academy the next time they take the court. The Griffins will host Envision Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Invictus will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
