Softball Recap: Ruston Comes Up Short

Ruston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the West Monroe Rebels, falling 14-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 10-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ruston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Stoehr, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Ruston's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for West Monroe, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruston will challenge Alexandria at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alexandria will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for West Monroe, they will host Pineville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Pineville will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something West Monroe surely won't give up without a fight.
