Baseball Recap: Freedom Drops Highest Score of Season Against East Stroudsburg North

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves a 34-0 shutout on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Santiago Rodriguez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Andrews, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Freedom hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Stroudsburg North struck out seven times.

Freedom's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for East Stroudsburg North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Freedom will venture away from home to square off against Louis E. Dieruff at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for East Stroudsburg North, they will welcome Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Timberwolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
