Basketball Game Preview: Wausa Vikings vs. Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats

Wausa is 0-5 against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Wausa Vikings will host the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Wausa came up short against Bloomfield and fell 43-35. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bees 15-11 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Olivia Barta, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Taylor Dawson was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Elkhorn Valley, falling 74-27. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Wausa, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.

Wausa took a serious blow against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 66-28. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wausa was down 38-15.
