Basketball Recap: Isaac Lindauer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tell City over Mt. Vernon

Tell City lost against Mt. Vernon back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tell City Marksmen fell to the Mt. Vernon Wildcats 45-39. The Marksmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tell City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac LIndauer, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. LIndauer is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Nolan Gebhard was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

Meyer Robb continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mt. Vernon, going 6 for 9 to rack up 17 points. Thanks to that strong game, Robb now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schickel, who earned six points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Tell City's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Tell City has already played their next match, a 57-51 victory against Springs Valley on the 1st. As for Mt. Vernon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-33 defeat against Princeton on the 6th.
