Football Game Preview: Palestine Wildcats vs. Pine Tree Pirates

The Palestine Wildcats will head out to face off against the Pine Tree Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Palestine's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.

Palestine took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Mabank by a score of 31-22.

One reason for the win was Palestine's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cason Applewhite. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Pine Tree was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 17-10 to Lindale. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Palestine's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Pine Tree, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Palestine was dealt a bruising 35-7 defeat at the hands of Pine Tree when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
