Recap: Riverton Parke Panthers vs. Crawfordsville Athenians
The Riverton Parke Panthers's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They strolled past Crawfordsville with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. The win was just what Riverton Parke needed coming off of a 60-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading Riverton Parke to victory were Haylee Mathas and Kenzie Nowicki. Mathas scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Nowicki scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Nowicki has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn Nelson, who scored seven points.
Riverton Parke's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Crawfordsville, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-17.
Riverton Parke won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Attica at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Crawfordsville, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Monrovia at 1:30 p.m. Hopefully Monrovia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday.
