Charlie Nigut Goes Supernova in Elizabeth Forward Win

Starting off the list is Elizabeth Forward's Charlie Nigut, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Nigut rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.

If the past is any indication, Nigut could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mt. Pleasant on Friday. When Nigut last faced the Vikings back in October of 2023, he rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and a touchdown.

While Southmoreland might've come up empty on Friday, Elliot Premus wasn't going down without a fight. Elizabeth Forward had no answer to Premus as he picked up 59 receiving yards.

With the loss, Southmoreland broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2. Premus and Southmoreland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Greensburg Salem at 7:00 p.m.

Max Doherty Delivers Best Effort of Season

Sadly, Max Doherty posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Derry over Mt. Pleasant on Friday. Doherty rushed for 174 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Derry is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. Doherty and Derry will square off against Yough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Aj Grese Leads Elizabeth Forward over Southmoreland

Elizabeth Forward was led to victory by Aj Grese, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Grese picked up 87 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

This season, Grese has averaged 42.3 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 18.89 receiving yards per game.

Ty Whoric Makes It Two for Southmoreland
