Basketball Recap: Miller Place Comes Up Short

Miller Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 59-42 fall against the Sayville Golden Flashes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-33 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Miller Place still got an impressive performance from Ava Zicchinelli, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Julie Orenzo, who posted nine points and three steals.

Miller Place's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Sayville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Miller Place will host Islip at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sayville, they will face off against Kings Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
