Basketball Game Preview: Chestnut Ridge Lions vs. Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils

The Chestnut Ridge Lions will venture away from home to take on the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Chestnut Ridge is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 11th on Saturday. They fell just short of Bishop McCort by a score of 67-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Claysburg-Kimmel. One positive for the Blue Devils, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Chestnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bellwood-Antis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Chestnut Ridge's way against Bellwood-Antis when the teams last played back in January, as Chestnut Ridge made off with a 62-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chestnut Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
