Baseball Recap: Old Fort Finds Home Field Redemption Against Danbury

There's no place like home for Old Fort, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Danbury Lakers on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Stockaders in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won nine in a row.

Old Fort's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Adelsperger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Adelsperger has become a key player for the Stockaders: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Jace Turner was another, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Old Fort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Old Fort's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Danbury, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
