Baseball Recap: Bellevue Makes It Four in a Row at Home

After only two runs in their last matchup, Bellevue made sure to put some runs up on the board against Liberty on Saturday. The Wolverines walked away with a 10-5 win over the Patriots. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-1 win back in April.

Dylan Leaird made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ellis Oeltjen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brandon Powell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bellevue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted an OBP of .371.

Bellevue's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Liberty, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.

As of now, neither Bellevue nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
