Scott has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lakin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Beavers will challenge the Broncs at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Scott's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
While Scott didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Holcomb with a sharp 15-2 victory on Tuesday. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Baylee Wolkensdorfer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ava Deines was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Crissa Irvin, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Scott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Lakin fell victim to Southwestern Heights and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 9-0. The Broncs haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Lakin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taybree Lohman-Fuller, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Scott's record is now 4-0. As for Lakin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Lakin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scott has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Lakin, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Scott's sizable advantage in that area, the Broncs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Scott got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Lakin by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
