Softball Game Preview: Good Hope Raiders vs. Danville Hawks

For the second straight game, Good Hope will face off against Danville. The Raiders will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Good Hope earned an 8-4 win over Danville.

Molly Benefield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lizzy Steed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Lambert, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Good Hope hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville struck out seven times.

Danville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-16. As for Good Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 18-11-1.
