It's playoff time, and Bowdon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They really took it to the Jenkins County War Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-22 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Bowdon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Hopkins led the charge by throwing for 194 yards and five TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 38 yards and one touchdown. Hopkins is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Bowdon's leading receiver Kaiden Prothro was Hopkins' top target yet again, picking up 67 receiving yards and four scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bowdon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Although Jenkins County took the loss, they still got scores from Justin Wright, Marquavious Roberson, and Antonio Williams.

Bowdon pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games. As for Jenkins County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Coming up, Bowdon will face off against Clinch County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Devils 14.8, the Panthers 14.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Jenkins County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
