Recap: Northern Heights Wildcats vs. Pleasanton Blu-Jays
This season hasn't been kind to The Northern Heights Wildcats, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were outmatched by Pleasanton at home and fell 40-6. Northern Heights has struggled against Pleasanton recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Pleasanton to victory were Kam Staton and Tony Gillespie. Staton threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, while Gillespie picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Gillespie's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.
Northern Heights' loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Pleasanton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Heights will take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeast comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Pleasanton, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's-Colgan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 393 points over their last seven games.
