Preview: Axtell vs. Blue Valley
On Friday Axtell take on Blue Valley at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close contest.
Axtell had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took the match and then some with a 58-12 victory last Friday. Junior Quinn Buessing, who passed for 299 yards and 7 touchdowns, was a major factor in Axtell's success. In fact, with 10 tackles Buessing was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Blue Valley had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They ended up forfeiting their matchup against Rock Hills 0-2.
Axtell's win lifted them to 1-0 while Blue Valley's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Blue Valley is able to find more success (and make for a more exciting game than their last) when the teams meet up.
