 Mooresville came tearing into  Thursday's  match with 17 straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Plainfield Quakers  4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mooresville also won the last time the pair played  last Wednesday.
 The team  relied heavily on  Levi Dorn, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Deklan Thompson, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On Plainfield's side,  Gabe Hansen was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Hansen has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hansen was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Hansen wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Grady Broughton, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Mooresville's victory was  their eighth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-2. As for Plainfield, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost seven of their last eight games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record  this season.
 Mooresville will challenge North Central at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The last three games North Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Plainfield, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Cascade at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Plainfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
