Port Charlotte won the last time they faced North Fort Myers and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates blew past the Red Knights 63-7. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Red Knights are ranked 207th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Port Charlotte's win came down to the chemistry between Logan Flaherty and his top target Dallas Lambert. Flaherty threw for 253 yards and five TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes while Lambert picked up 150 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those five passing touchdowns gave Flaherty a new career-high.

Port Charlotte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ahmad'Dra Greene and Chavon Lizana. Greene got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Port Charlotte has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 62.5 points this season. As for North Fort Myers, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Port Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 49-13 win against Lehigh on the 5th. As for North Fort Myers, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 37-14 victory against Mariner on the 5th.
