Basketball Recap: Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Comes Up Short

After flying high against White River on Friday, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte came back down to earth. The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves fell 65-52 to the Todd County Falcons on Saturday. The match marked the Braves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Todd County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reuben Iron Horse, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Ellert, who posted 16 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Todd County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

While Cheyenne-Eagle Butte had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
