Wellington hadn't done well against Clearwater recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Crusaders narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 2-1. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wellington got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 25-18.

Lyndi Barton paced Wellington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Barton got some help from Kirstyn Gregory and her 20 assists. Blyss Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wellington's record now sits at 2-0. As for Clearwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

After both having extra time off, Wellington and Collegiate will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearwater, they will head out on the road to square off against Circle on Tuesday.
