Preview: Chelsea Red Devils vs. Medford Mustangs
Chelsea is 0-5 against Medford since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
Chelsea's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Revere 52-16. Chelsea was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-5.
Even though Medford has not done well against Revere recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Medford took down Revere 49-34. Medford's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Chelsea bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Medford, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Chelsea suffered a grim 45-25 defeat to Medford in their previous meeting back in January. Can Chelsea avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
