Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson lost against Brandon back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jefferson Dragons took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brandon Eagles. The Dragons' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Brandon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Messiah McKinley led the charge by putting up 18 points. McKinley's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cole, who posted 16 points.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Brandon, their victory ended a 16-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-13.

Jefferson will face off against King at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson is facing King at the right time seeing as King is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Brandon, they will take on Hillsborough at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Brandon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
