Baseball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hardin-Jefferson can now relate to. They fell 8-3 to the Bridge City Cardinals on Thursday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Luke McLeod was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Hardin-Jefferson's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-14-1. As for Bridge City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-5-1.

While Hardin-Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
