The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Parkersburg South is ranked 16th, while Princeton is ranked ninth).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-14, which was the final score in Parkersburg South's tilt against Wheeling Park on Friday. Parkersburg South was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-0.
Meanwhile, Princeton stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Greenbrier East, posting a 55-0 victory on the road. 55 seems to be a good number for Princeton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Princeton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominick Collins, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Collins is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brad Mossor, who gained 150 total yards and two touchdowns.
Wheeling Park's victory bumped their season record to 6-2 while Parkersburg South's loss dropped theirs to 6-3.
Parkersburg South was able to grind out a solid victory over Princeton in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 49-41. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Princeton's Grant Cochran, who threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Parkersburg South to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
