Basketball Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners
The Basic Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 78-70 victory over Sunrise Mountain. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Basic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenny Williams out in front who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Alvonte' Nelson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Basic's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Sunrise Mountain, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.
Basic will take on the Bengals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Lutheran presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Miners in Nevada (the Crusaders are ranked 15th, while the Miners are ranked 72nd).
