Basketball Recap: Dakota Takes a Loss

Dakota suffered their closest loss since February 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Chippewa Valley Big Reds by a score of 55-53. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Big Reds are ranked 49th).

Dakota has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Chippewa Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Dakota Cougars duke it out with the Roseville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chippewa Valley has already played their next game (against Lincoln), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
